Charco Neurotech Secures £205K Seed Funding to Launch Parkinson's Treatment Device
Cambridge-based medtech startup Charco Neurotech has raised £205,000 in a seed funding round led by The Imperial College Innovation Fund
The company will use the funding to launch its first product, CUE1, a non-invasive device designed to help manage Parkinson's symptoms
CUE1 uses controlled vibrations to potentially improve motor function and quality of life for people with Parkinson's.
ProblemHealthcare
"Parkinson's disease is a debilitating condition that affects millions of people worldwide. There is currently no cure for the disease, and existing treatments can be ineffective and have side effects. Patients struggle with tremors, stiffness, and slow movements, making everyday tasks difficult."
Solution
"Charco Neurotech has developed a non-invasive vibrating device called CUE1 that helps manage Parkinson's symptoms. The device attaches to the patient's chest and uses controlled vibrations to improve movement and reduce tremors. The vibrations can be customized using a companion app, and the device can be integrated with other patient support tools like medication reminders. CUE1 has shown promising results in pilot testing, with users experiencing improvements in motor function and overall quality of life."
