The investment was led by L’Oreal, along with other investors including Circular Innovation Fund, Future Communities Capital, PDS Ventures, and Katapult.
ProblemTechnology
"The cosmetics industry currently uses chemicals derived from fossil fuels to create colour dyes, which causes major environmental harm through every stage of their lifecycle, from manufacture to degradation."
Solution
"Sparxell develops biodegradable, vegan colour pigments from plant-based cellulose extracted from waste, producing a more intense and fade-resistant colour than traditional methods."
