The Plum Guide Secures £14 Million to Expand its Luxury Home Rental Platform
The Plum Guide, a booking platform known as the “Michelin Guide for Homes”, has raised £14m from early-stage investors to support its ambitious rollout to 12 new cities this year
The funding round is led by Talis Capital, with participation from Latitude, Hearst Ventures, and Octopus Ventures
The Plum Guide uses a proprietary algorithm to find the highest rated and best located homes in a city, with expert hospitality critics visiting each home to interview the host and check the property
Only 1 out of every 100 properties in each city is invited to join the collection
The company aims to guarantee consistent quality every time and expects to offer almost 12,000 verified homes in the most sought-after cities for holiday rentals by the end of 2019.
ProblemTechnology
"Booking a vacation rental online can be unreliable, with inconsistent quality and varying standards across different platforms."
Solution
"The Plum Guide uses a proprietary algorithm and expert hospitality critics to vet and select only the top 1% of homes in each city, ensuring consistent quality and a curated experience for travelers."
