Windracers Secures Funding for Drone Delivery Expansion
Windracers, a UK-based drone delivery company, has secured funding from the Future Flight challenge at UK Research and Innovation (UKRI)
The investment will be used to continue testing drones and autopilot technology, expand trials in Scotland, and work with the Civil Aviation Authority on autonomous flight regulations
Windracers is among several companies receiving a share of £73 million in Phase 3 funding from the Future Flight challenge, which aims to accelerate innovation in the aviation sector
The company plans to launch over 50 new postal drone delivery routes in partnership with the Royal Mail, utilizing drones capable of long-range flights and carrying significant payloads
Windracers is also involved in research projects using UAVs for Antarctic research and firefighting in remote areas.
