CitizenMe Secures £1.5 Million to Expand Ethical Data Platform Globally
CitizenMe, a London-based ethical data pioneer, has raised £1.5 million in funding to expand its global presence
The investment round was led by North East Venture Fund (NEVF), supported by the European Regional Development Fund and managed by Mercia, alongside funds from 1818 Capital and private investors
The funding will enable CitizenMe to further develop its AI capabilities, grow its presence in the US market, and create 20 new jobs
CitizenMe's platform allows consumers to share their data in exchange for payment or other incentives, while ensuring that the data is securely held on individuals' smartphones and companies are not able to access their personal details directly.
ProblemTechnology
"Consumers' concerns over current data collection practices, where their data is collected and used by multiple companies, leading to a lack of control and privacy over personal data."
Solution
"CitizenMe's customer data platform, which enables customers to share their data in exchange for payment or other incentives, while keeping their personal details secure and giving them full control over how their data is used."
