Cambridge Spin-out Porotech Secures £1.5M Seed Funding to Advance GaN Semiconductor Technology
Poro Technologies, a University of Cambridge spin-out specializing in Gallium Nitride (GaN) semiconductor technology, has raised £1.5 million in seed funding
The round was co-led by Cambridge Enterprise and IQ Capital Partners, with participation from Martlet Capital, Cambridge Angels, and Cambridge Capital Group
The funding will be used to develop a pilot plant in Cambridge and support the development of Porotech's first major products.
ProblemTechnology
"Gallium Nitride (GaN) semiconductors, while promising for electronics and optoelectronics, need to be more versatile and efficient to truly revolutionize these industries."
Solution
"Porotech has developed a unique production process to create porous GaN semiconductors, allowing for tailored material properties that significantly enhance the performance of electronic and optoelectronic devices."
