Ember Raises $14 Million to Expand All-Electric Intercity Bus Network in UK
Ember, a Scottish startup building an all-electric intercity bus network in the UK, has raised $14 million in a Series A round led by Inven Capital, 2150, and AENU
The company, which started with a single bus in 2019, now operates 24 buses and has just received 14 new next-generation vehicles from Yutong
These new buses feature a larger battery capacity, faster charging times, and increased passenger and luggage capacity
Ember is taking a 'full-stack' approach to its fleet development, controlling everything from manufacturing and charging infrastructure to customer service and software
The company plans to use the new funding to expand its network across Scotland and the broader U.K
market.
