sensewhere Secures €1.64 Million from Scottish Enterprise for Indoor Positioning Research
sensewhere, a Scottish startup providing indoor positioning solutions, has secured €1.64 million from Scottish Enterprise to support research and development
The funding will be used to enhance location accuracy, performance indoors and outdoors, and add the latest location features to its software
The grant will also create seven new highly skilled jobs at the company's headquarters in Edinburgh.
ProblemTechnology
"GPS and other global navigation satellite systems are blocked in dense urban areas, making it difficult to determine a user's location indoors."
Solution
"Sensewhere's software uses a database of electromagnetic sources, such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth signals, to triangulate a user's location indoors, providing accurate indoor positioning even in areas with poor satellite reception."
