KARRI Raises €900k to Launch Smart Walkie-Talkie for Kids
KARRI, a London-based startup developing a smart walkie-talkie for children, has secured €900k in pre-seed funding led by 468 Capital
The investment will be used to take the product from prototype testing to mass production and rollout in the UK
KARRI aims to provide a safe and secure way for parents and young kids to stay in touch, giving kids greater independence and parents peace of mind
The device is designed for children aged four to ten and allows them to send messages simply by pushing a button and speaking
Parents can receive and send messages back via the KARRI app, track their kids' location via GPS, and enable geo-fencing for additional security
KARRI expects to ship its first finished products at the end of August 2024, with a full public launch to follow.
ProblemTechnology
"Parents want to give their kids more freedom to explore but are worried about giving them smartphones, which are distracting and expose them to the internet. Traditional walkie-talkies have limited range and lack parental controls."
Solution
"KARRI is a smart walkie-talkie for kids aged 4-10 that allows them to communicate with each other and their parents securely. It has a simple interface, GPS tracking, and geo-fencing to ensure kids stay safe."
