Monese Raises $1.8 Million to Make Banking Easier for Expats
Monese, a London-based fintech startup that allows users to open a UK bank account in less than 3 minutes on their mobile, has raised $1.8 million in seed funding
The round was led by Seedcamp, with participation from early Spotify investor Shakil Khan and other angel investors
Monese is licensed by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and will launch in the UK in summer 2015
The startup offers a branchless and digital banking service that enables instant account opening via a mobile app, regardless of the customer’s missing utility bill
Monese aims to help expats by offering easy account opening, cheap payments, and a debit card, taking the pain out of and putting the honesty back into banking.
