Cambridge Touch Technologies Raises €9 Million for UltraTouch Technology
Cambridge Touch Technologies (CTT), a spin-out of Cambridge University, has raised €9 million in a Series B funding round led by Kureha Corporation, a global supplier of specialty chemicals and plastics
The funding will be used to expand the company's team and its network of Asia sales and support offices in China and Taiwan
CTT has developed a multi-force-and-touch solution called UltraTouch, which combines sophisticated algorithms with advanced materials
UltraTouch can be used in any touch-capable smart device and solves problems with touch screens, such as using a smartphone in the rain
It also offers new functionalities, like creating virtual buttons for car interiors or using a smartphone underwater
UltraTouch is suitable for buttonless phones, wearables, and foldable phones.
ProblemTechnology
"making touch screens more reliable and usable in various environments, such as rain, water, or underwater"
Solution
"UltraTouch technology, an all-in-one sensor architecture that can be used in any touch-capable smart device, providing multiple force and touch sensing"
