Sunlight Raises €4.9 Million to Accelerate High-Performance Cloud
Sunlight, a Cambridge-based developer of virtualisation tech for data-intensive applications, has secured €4.9 million in Series A funding led by OpenOcean, with participation from Robert Bosch Venture Capital
The funding will be used to expand Sunlight's commercial operations and footprint, particularly in the US market
Sunlight's technology can cut the infrastructure costs of running data-intensive applications by 70%, addressing the challenge of supporting skyrocketing data volumes efficiently
The company's complete hyperconverged stack (HCI) is designed for high performance, small footprint and simplicity, centered around Sunlight NexVisor, a light-weight hypervisor optimized for the fastest flash storage (NVMe) and network hardware
Sunlight has earned the trust of a number of enterprises that are already using NexVisor to accelerate high-performance applications such as Splunk, Elastic Search and Cloudera.
