Cera Raises $17 Million to Expand Homecare Services Across the UK
Cera, a London-based homecare startup advised by former Deputy Prime Minister Sir Nick Clegg, has raised $17 million in Series A funding
The round was led by Yabeo, a German care supply company, and also included investments from Guinness Asset Management and Kairos
Cera plans to use the funding to expand its services across the UK, launching in Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham, and to continue investing in its AI-powered predictive analytics tool
The company has also been working on collaborations with NHS 111 and Amazon Alexa.
ProblemHealthcare
"The UK has over 8,000 home care providers but many struggle to scale and grow due to lack of technology. This creates a fragmented market where it's hard to find high-quality care easily and cost-effectively."
Solution
"Cera is building a tech-enabled home care platform that allows for a more efficient and reliable way to connect patients with caregivers. They are using a 'buy and build' strategy to acquire struggling home care agencies, bring them into the Cera platform and improve their operations. Cera is also developing AI tools to predict patient health deterioration and prevent unnecessary hospital admissions."
