Limejump Raises £1.4 Million to Transform U.K. Energy Market with Big Data
Limejump, a U.K.-based startup using big data and cloud solutions to transform the energy market, has raised £1.4 million in a seed extension round
The funding, from Angel CoFund, JamJar Investments, and Passion Capital, will be used for R&D, product and technology development, and customer acquisition
Limejump’s technology helps businesses and generators participate in the National Grid’s demand response programmes, allowing them to earn additional revenue by adjusting their energy usage during peak times
The company’s customers include NWF Agriculture and Planet Ice & Silver Blades Ice Rinks, both of which are energy-intensive businesses.
ProblemTechnology Infrastructure
"The UK energy market is inefficient. Businesses with high energy needs and small-scale distributed generators struggle to participate in demand response programmes, missing out on opportunities to earn additional revenue by adjusting their energy usage."
Solution
"Limejump provides a platform that connects these businesses and generators to the National Grid's demand response programmes. Their software and technology allow for near real-time adjustment of energy consumption and production, helping to balance supply and demand on the grid."
