Emotech raises $10M to build a personality-adapting AI-powered robot assistant
Emotech, a UK robotics startup, has secured over $10 million in Series A funding to further develop its AI-powered robot assistant, Olly
The funding comes from two Chinese VC firms: Alliance Capital and lead investor Lightning Capital
The investment will be used for building out the team with AI expertise and collaborating with university labs
Emotech aims to launch Olly in early 2017 with an English version first
The company intends to create a robot assistant with a more varied personality than existing voice-controlled assistants like Amazon's Echo or Apple's Siri, adapting to the personality of its owner.
