Nick D'Aloisio, the 21-year-old founder of Summly, which he sold to Yahoo for $30 million, has raised funding for a new app called Sphere Knowledge
The app connects users with verified experts for instant chat-based Q&A sessions, with experts being paid per minute
D'Aloisio has reportedly raised around $11.8 million in a combined seed and Series A round, with Index Ventures and LocalGlobe being involved as investors
Sphere Knowledge is still in development, and the app was pulled from the iOS App Store after D'Aloisio was contacted.
ProblemTechnology
"It's hard to find and instantly chat with an expert on a range of topics. Existing Q&A apps are slow, and often don't have verified experts."
Solution
"Sphere connects people with verified experts in real time via chat, allowing users to get answers to their questions instantly. Experts are paid per minute to answer questions, making it a more efficient and reliable way to get answers."
