Babylon Health Raises $25 Million to Build AI-Powered Health Advice
Babylon Health, a UK-based digital health app startup, has raised $25 million in Series A funding led by Investment AB Kinnevik
The company plans to use the funding to develop AI-driven health advice features for its mobile app
Babylon Health already provides video consultations with doctors and other health services
The funding round also saw participation from Babylon's original backer Hoxton Ventures, the founders of BXR Group, and the co-founders of Innocent Drinks
Notably, Demis Hassabis and Mustafa Suleyman, founders of Deepmind, also participated in the round, as they are already advising Babylon Health.
ProblemHealthcare
"People need to get healthcare but finding the right doctor, and paying for appointments, can be difficult and time-consuming. It's often hard to know when it's necessary to see a doctor for a problem and wait times are often long."
Solution
"Babylon is a mobile app that allows you to consult with a doctor virtually via text, phone or video. The app also uses AI to pre-screen health conditions, so you can get quick advice and determine whether you need to see a doctor in person."
