Chargifi Raises $2.7 Million for Wireless Charging Network
Chargifi, a London-based startup building a wireless charging network, has raised $2.7 million in Series A funding led by Intel Capital
The company plans to use the funding to expand its network of wireless charging points in coffee shops and other public venues
Chargifi's technology is based on new 'magnetic resonance' wireless charging technology, which allows for greater positional freedom than traditional inductive charging techniques
The company also provides software-as-a-service to help with the management of wireless charging points and related analytics and marketing opportunities
Chargifi's main competitor is Powermat, which has also started providing public facing wireless charging services.
ProblemTechnology
"People need to charge their devices while on the go, but there are not enough convenient charging options available. This makes it difficult for people to stay connected and productive when they are away from home or the office."
Solution
"Chargifi is building a wireless charging network that allows people to charge their devices at public venues like coffee shops, restaurants, and airports. The company provides venues with the hardware and software they need to set up and manage their own wireless charging systems. Chargifi also offers a mobile app that allows users to locate and use wireless charging points."
