Lobster Raises £1 Million to Scale its User-Generated Content Marketplace
U.K
startup Lobster is closing a £1 million Series A funding round to scale its user-generated content licensing marketplace
The round is led by KL10CH and Nikolay Katorzhnov, with other unnamed investors making smaller contributions
The remaining 20 percent of the round will be derived from U.K
and international angels, and follow-ons from investors in previous rounds
The funding will be used to expand its marketing and partnership efforts overseas, with new offices planned for the U.S
and Asia
Lobster will also be focusing resources on its AI-powered search, which it launched last year, aiming to enhance content-ranking and show its customers more relevant content
Lobster has previously raised around $700,000 in seed funding, including from Wayra UK, U.K
angels and via a crowdfunding route.
ProblemTechnology
"Businesses struggle to find and legally license authentic user-generated content for marketing materials, often resorting to tired stock photography."
Solution
"Lobster provides a marketplace where businesses can easily find and license user-generated content from social media platforms. The platform simplifies legal use, offers a subscription model, and uses AI to enhance content search and ranking."
