Entrepreneur First Raises £8.5 Million to Fund 'Pre-Team, Pre-Idea' Startups
Entrepreneur First (EF), a London-based startup accelerator, has raised an £8.5 million fund to expand its program, which invests in highly technical individuals before they have a team or a developed idea
EF provides these individuals with a stipend, pre-seed funding, office space, and mentorship to help them build their startups
Investors in the fund include Encore Capital, Infocomm Investments, and angel investors Robin Klein and Alex Chesterman
The fund will enable EF to scale its program to support 200 individuals per year, up from 30 in its first year.
ProblemTechnology
"It's difficult to find and invest in ambitious, highly technical people who want to build startups, especially before they have a team or an idea."
Solution
"Entrepreneur First (EF) helps find these individuals, gives them resources and mentoring, and invests in them to help them build successful companies. They offer a monthly stipend, pre-seed funding, office space, legal and administrative support, and access to a network of mentors and entrepreneurs."
