Skyscanner Raises $192 Million to Expand Globally
Skyscanner, a travel search engine based in Edinburgh, Scotland, raised £128 million (about $192 million) in a funding round led by Khazanah Nasional Berhad and Yahoo! Japan
The company is now worth $1.6 billion, making it a unicorn
The funding will be used to expand into new markets around the world, make acquisitions, and give some of its shareholders more liquidity
Skyscanner has been making inroads into Asia for the past three years, striking partnerships with Baidu and Yahoo! Japan; opening offices in China and Singapore; and acquiring Youbibi, a Chinese travel search startup
The site is used by 50 million people every month and faces competition from companies like Kayak, Expedia, Qunar, Ctrip and Google Flights.

Solution
"Skyscanner is a travel search engine that simplifies the process of finding cheap flights by aggregating data from multiple airlines and travel agencies. This gives users access to a wider range of options, helping them find the best deals."
