B-Secur Raises $4.5M for Heartbeat Biometric Authentication Technology
B-Secur, a Northern Ireland-based company, has raised £3.5 million (~$4.5 million) in late-stage seed funding for its biometric authentication technology that uses an individual's unique heartbeat pattern
The investment comes from a syndicate of UK and Ireland-based investors, including Accelerated Digital Ventures, Kernel Capital, Woodford Investment Management, and British Business Bank
B-Secur's technology is being licensed into a number of end-user applications, including automotive, financial services, access control, and smart cities
The company plans to use the new funds to expand its current work in the UK, Ireland, and the US.
ProblemTechnology
"Currently, authentication methods like facial or fingerprint recognition are easily spoofed, making them vulnerable to hackers."
Solution
"B-Secur's technology uses your unique heartbeat pattern to authenticate your identity, offering a more secure and robust form of authentication compared to traditional methods. They are licensing their algorithms to various companies for integration into their products and services."
