Code Kingdoms Raises $1.4 Million to Teach Kids Coding Through Minecraft
Code Kingdoms, a London-based startup, has raised $1.4 million in seed funding led by Initial Capital and Blenheim Chalcot
The company focuses on teaching children JavaScript through Minecraft modding, BBC micro:bit programming, and its original Code Kingdoms game
The funding will be used to grow the team and expand into new regions.
ProblemEducation
"Kids are spending a lot of time playing Minecraft, but there's no easy way for them to learn to code and create mods for it."
Solution
"We created a subscription service that teaches kids JavaScript through interactive videos and our online code editor so they can make their own Minecraft mods. We also have a Minecraft server they can use to test their mods."
