Synaptec Secures £6.5 Million Funding for Distributed Electrical Sensing Platform Expansion
Synaptec, a Glasgow-based developer of a distributed electrical sensing (DES) fiber-optic instrumentation platform, has raised £6.5 million in funding
The funding round was led by Megger Group, Proserv, and Equity Gap
Synaptec intends to use the funds to support its expansion, including the development of new manufacturing facilities in Scotland
The company's technology is used for real-time control and asset management, automating condition monitoring functions for critical MV and HV assets which are remote or inaccessible.
ProblemTechnology Infrastructure
"Traditional methods of monitoring electrical infrastructure are outdated and unreliable, making it difficult and costly to maintain critical assets. This leads to unplanned downtime, safety hazards, and increased costs for businesses."
Solution
"Synaptec's technology provides a real-time, accurate, and distributed way to monitor electrical infrastructure. It uses fibre-optic sensors to detect changes in electrical current and voltage, allowing for early detection of problems and preventative maintenance. This reduces downtime, improves safety, and saves money for businesses."
