Calcivis Raises £3.15 Million to Advance Dental Imaging System
Calcivis, a UK-based medical devices company, has secured £3.15 million in equity funding from Archangel Investors, Julz, and the Scottish Investment Bank
The funding will be used to complete the FDA's Pre-Market Approval (PMA) review process for the CALCIVIS® Imaging System in the US and to drive commercialization in the UK
Calcivis's imaging system visualizes calcium ions released from demineralizing tooth surfaces, providing insights for discussion with patients and preventive treatment plans.
ProblemHealthcare
"Traditional dental imaging methods struggle to accurately detect early signs of tooth decay, leading to delayed diagnosis and treatment."
Solution
"Calcivis developed a novel imaging system that visualizes calcium ions released from demineralizing tooth surfaces in real-time. This allows dentists to detect early signs of decay and initiate preventative treatment, leading to better oral health outcomes."
