NearSt Raises £2 Million to Connect Local Stores with Online Shoppers
NearSt, a London-based retail technology startup, has secured £2 million in seed funding, bringing its total raised to date to £3.2 million
The round was led by YYX Capital, with participation from Will Hobhouse, Ben Laurie, and senior engineers from DeepMind
NearSt's platform links products on shop shelves to nearby customers searching in Google, making it easier for shoppers to buy locally
The company plans to use the funds to expand its offering in the UK and launch in the US.
ProblemTechnology
"Many people in the UK are buying online, but they don’t know what’s available in stores nearby. This means local shops lose out on sales, and people miss out on local products."
Solution
"NearSt connects local stores' inventory to Google Search, so when people search for a product they can see what’s in stock at nearby stores and buy it immediately."
