Interface Polymers Secures Investment from GC Ventures to Enhance Polymer Recyclability
Interface Polymers, a UK-based developer of innovative chemical additives for enhancing the recyclability of key polymers, has received an investment from GC Ventures, a subsidiary of PTT Global Chemical PLC
The amount of the investment was not disclosed
Founded in 2016, Interface Polymers leverages its Polarfin di-block technology to make polyolefins compatible with other materials, enabling recycling of mixed plastics used in food packaging.
ProblemTechnology
"Recycling mixed plastics is a massive problem - it's hard to separate different types of plastic, which makes it difficult to recycle them effectively. This means that a lot of plastic ends up in landfills, polluting the environment."
Solution
"Interface Polymers has developed a technology called Polarfin® that makes it easier to recycle mixed plastics. Their additives help different types of plastics stick together, making it easier to process them in a recycling plant. This means that more plastic can be recycled and less ends up in landfills."
