CMR Surgical Raises $100 Million to Commercialize Surgical Robot
CMR Surgical, a Cambridge, UK-based company developing a next-generation surgical robot, has secured $100 million in Series B funding
The round was led by Zhejiang Silk Road Fund, with participation from existing investors Escala Capital Investments, LGT, Cambridge Innovation Capital, and Watrium
CMR Surgical plans to use the funds to prepare its Versius® system for commercialization, including completing validation studies for regulatory approval, expanding internationally, and scaling up commercial operations
Versius® is a universal robotic system designed for minimal access surgery across various specialties, and CMR Surgical is currently conducting preclinical trials to demonstrate its capabilities in upper gastrointestinal, gynecological, colorectal, and renal surgery.
