Dark social media app Howbout picks almost £2M to plan and schedule gatherings — TFN

Howbout, a London-based social planning startup, raised £1.92M in funding led by ACF Investors, Supernode Global, Boost Capital, Claire Valoti and Desigan Chinniah. The company plans to use the funds for global expansion, hiring, and R&D. Howbout focuses on bringing a user's social life together in one place, enabling them to quickly make and schedule plans, chat directly, and build groups and shared calendars.

Howbout is a private social network focused on friendships – in contrast to followers, fans and feeds – that brings a user’s social life together in one place. Users can quickly make and schedule plans using instant availability scheduling tools or polls, chat directly on every plan, and build groups and shared calendars with their different social circles. Howbout already has more than 500,000 downloads to date and users in 125+ countries have made more than 3 million plans on it since its launch in August 2020.
