BBOXX Raises $50 Million to Expand Off-Grid Solar Systems in Africa and Asia
BBOXX, a UK-based provider of off-grid solar systems in Africa, has secured $50 million in Series D funding
The round was led by Mitsubishi, with participation from ENGIE Rassembleurs d’Energies, Bamboo Capital Partners, DOEN Participaties, and MacKinnon, Bennett & Company (MKB)
The funding will be used to expand BBOXX's operations across Africa and Asia
BBOXX offers pay-as-you-go solar power for modern utility services, such as cooking, internet access, and water, and has installed over 200,000 solar home systems in Rwanda, Kenya, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Togo.
