CamStent Secures £500k for Anti-Bacterial Medical Coatings
CamStent, a Cambridge, UK-based early stage polymer coatings specialist, has secured £500k in funding
The funding round was led by London Business Angels, who committed £114k, including an £18k follow-on investment from the LBA EIS Roundtable Syndicate Fund 2011
This investment follows the £350k seed funding round completed in August 2011
CamStent is developing patented polymer coatings to prevent bacteria growth on medical implants and devices, focusing on urinary catheters to prevent Urinary Tract Infections
The company will use the capital for validation, experimental trials, and regulatory submissions ahead of human clinical trials.
