Oxford Quantum Circuits Secures £38 Million for Global Expansion
Oxford Quantum Circuits, a UK-based quantum computing company, has raised £38 million in its ongoing Series A round, making it the largest Series A in the UK's quantum computing sector
The round was led by Lansdowne Partners and The University of Tokyo Edge Capital Partners (UTEC), with participation from British Patient Capital and existing investors Oxford Science Enterprises and Oxford Investment Consultants
The funding will be used to scale quantum systems and expand into Asia-Pacific, including Japan, a hotspot for financial services
The company recently launched its latest system, Lucy, on Amazon Braket, becoming the first European quantum company on AWS
CEO Ilana Wisby highlights the investment as a testament to the company's progress and its ambition to lead the global quantum industry.
