Kano Raises $28 Million to Expand DIY Computer Kits in North America
Kano, a London-based DIY computer company, has secured $28 million in Series B funding
The round was led by Thames Trust and Breyer Capital, with participation from several other investors including Index Ventures, Stanford Engineering Venture Fund, LocalGlobe, and Barclays
The company plans to use the funding for a mass North American rollout of its computing kits, which will be stocked in major retailers like Best Buy, Target, Walmart, Microsoft Stores, Jet.com, and The Source
Kano creates computer and coding kits for all ages, offering a range of learn-to-code environments, from block-based coding to real text coding.
