Oxwash Raises £2.08M for Sustainable Laundry Solutions
Oxford-based Oxwash, a laundry tech startup, has raised £2.08 million in a seed funding round from a group of investors.
ProblemTechnology
"The traditional laundry industry is environmentally damaging, releasing microfibres into the ocean and contributing to plastic pollution. It also uses a lot of energy and water, and often involves harsh chemicals."
Solution
"Oxwash offers a sustainable laundry service that uses ozone technology to sterilize fabrics at lower temperatures, reducing energy consumption and water usage. They also use biodegradable chemicals and have a proprietary microfibre filtration technology that removes more than 95% of fibres shed during washing, preventing plastic pollution. Oxwash also uses electric cargo bikes for hyper-local pickups and deliveries, further reducing their carbon footprint."
