Puraffinity Raises £6.73M in Funding

Puraffinity, a UK-based startup specializing in removing toxic PFAS from water, has raised £6.73 million in funding from BGF, completing its £16.93 million Series A round. The investment will be used to scale up production of its patented Puratech® material and expand its global reach. Puraffinity's technology provides a differentiated solution to the PFAS problem, which has been linked to health issues such as cancer.

Puraffinity, a London-based startup, develops precision technologies for removing toxic perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from water. The company's patented, PFAS-capturing material, Puratech®, is a customizable plug-in solution that fits into existing water treatment systems and can be tailored to capture specific PFAS compounds. Puraffinity was founded in 2015 by Henrik Hagemann and Gabi Santosa and spun out of Imperial College.
