WhereIsMyTransport Secures €6.8 Million Series A to Improve Public Transport in Emerging Markets
London-based startup WhereIsMyTransport has raised €6.8 million in a Series A funding round
The round saw participation from new investors Google, Nedbank, Liil Ventures, and Toyota Tsusho Corporation, alongside existing investors Global Innovation Fund and Goodwell Investments
The company will use the funds to expand its global reach, scale its data collection practices, and develop new technology to improve transport services in emerging markets.
ProblemTechnology Infrastructure
"In many developing countries, people lack access to reliable public transportation, relying on informal and often unsafe networks. This makes it difficult for them to get around and limits their opportunities for work, education, and social mobility."
Solution
"WhereIsMyTransport is building a big data platform that maps and analyzes public transportation networks in emerging markets. This data is used to create user-friendly apps and tools that help people find the best routes, track bus schedules, and understand the cost of different options. The platform also provides valuable insights to governments and transportation providers, enabling them to improve services and make better decisions."
