WAU Secures £650,000 to Advance Data-Collecting E-Bikes for Autonomous Vehicles
Birmingham-based EV company WAU has raised £650,000 in pre-seed funding from Angel Investment Network
The company, founded in 2018, produces electric bikes that collect mapping data for autonomous vehicles
The funding will be used to double production at its Essex plant, increase headcount, and relocate its headquarters to Birmingham.
ProblemTechnology
"Autonomous vehicles need accurate mapping data to navigate safely and efficiently. Current mapping methods are often expensive and time-consuming."
Solution
"WAU's e-bikes are equipped with sensors and software that collect high-quality mapping data for autonomous vehicles. This data can be used to create detailed maps that help autonomous vehicles navigate complex environments."
